GREETINGS from
WHOLE HORSE TRAINING

Fall is in full swing and winter will be upon us soon. Seasonal changes are always a time of reflection for me and this has been an interesting year.

I'm excited to have added Scrapbook Photo Pages to my web site. Each page is a series of eight photos with brief captions. I love to share my experiences with horses and hope you will enjoy seeing the pictures as well. We did some beautiful trail rides and had a lot of fun this past year.

In August, Linda and I attended a horsemanship clinic with Harry Whitney in Hamilton, MT. Western states were experiencing an outbreak of vesicular stomatitis and we nearly had to leave the horses in Idaho for fear of a quarantine, but, in the end, all four of us, Jack, Red, Linda and myself, made the trip without difficulties.

Harry is a wizard with horses and it is always informative to spend time with him. Jack has been with me for a year and a half. I'd undone as much physical and mental damage from his previous trainers as I could and Harry helped give me the confidence to get Jack going under saddle again. The Scrapbook Photo Page tells some of the story and I will have more to relay soon.

This summer/fall was a busy time for me. I always like to think that things slow down in the winter but that never really seems to be the case. I don't know if that's the way things used to be or if the idea is just a dream I cling to as a memory.

I recently saw a movie in which someone said, "Memories are like moonbeams; you can do with them what you want." When I heard that, I decided that would be the theme for a book; a book of moonbeam memories with horses as the stars. So, once again, things aren't going to slow down this winter for me. And that does not mean that I'm just off in space somewhere.

Hope all is well on your end. I love hearing from you so do stay in touch.
