Whole Horse Training - Nancy Camp
Mission Statement
THE FOCUS OF WHOLE HORSE TRAINING

Nancy seeks to establish a new paradigm for equine management and rider education by continually questioning traditional dogma and reassessing it in light of a more horse-friendly approach. To do this, she provides riding experiences and workshops that explore and share revolutionary ideas. These clinics and workshops raise the consciousness and awareness level of horse owners and care givers.

The philosophies of Whole Horse Training honor the equine in mind, body and spirit. The constituents of whole horse care are: proper dental maintenance, hoof care, saddle fit, consideration for the physical being with an eye to complementary modalities and support for the emotional being. Extensive bodywork is seen as a necessity and includes chiropractic, acupuncture/acupressure, and a variety of energy work such as High Touch® Jin Shin, Reikei, kinesiology, and craniosacral. The final piece to this whole is a balanced and considerate rider.

The EquiMotion workshops and audio course reveal how riding can offer freedom and comfort to horses. Clinics and the DVD on Clicker Training offer nontraditional and enjoyable training experiences. Nancy believes that regular bodywork is a right and not a luxury for horses. To help make regular body work a reality for more horses, she offers workshops which introduce High Touch® Jin Shin to horse owners and a DVD on Equine Energy Balancing.

FLYING: Three airports service the Sun Valley area. Friedman Airport is located in Hailey a mere twenty minutes from the ranch. Horizon and Alaska Air fly there and the fares tend to be expensive. Twin Falls airport is about 1-1/2 hours south. Boise airport is 2-3/4 hours away.

WEATHER: At just over 5,000 feet above sea level the air is thin and temperatures vary a great deal within the span of a day. Early mornings and evenings can be quite chilly even in mid-summer while mid-day can be hot. It's best to plan on layering your clothing for comfort. If you plan a hiking excursion into the mountains while visiting it's wise to have a lightweight rain jacket. Sudden storms are likely in the mountains. The climate is dry, technically it's high desert. You lose hydration simply by breathing so plan on drinking lots of water.
