You Don't Have To Do "Dressage"

To Dance With Your Horse!

Partnership and Ease in Connection

People often refer to the Musical Freestyle as “Dancing with Your Horse.”
The addition of music to a performance does make it seem like dancing, but when you work in Connection, every movement is like a dance
whether you are in an arena, on a trail or working from the ground.

Connected Riding ®

Nancy is proud to be a Connected Riding ® Instructor. This methodology, developed by Peggy Cummings, speaks directly to Nancy’s desire to make the world a better place for horses. Based in the development of functional posture for both horse and rider, individually and as a team, Connected Riding ® is a kind and efficient approach to riding.
The picture to the right shows one of Nancy’s students riding Fred. The overall impression is one of harmony and comfort in both bodies and in their interaction with one another.

Connected Groundwork ®

There are many ways to work with a horse from the ground. Most methodologies focus on getting the horse to interact and do something, whether at liberty or on a line, without much concern for how the horse uses his body in the process. Every movement in Connected Groundwork® functions as a building block that both enhances the relationship between the handler and the horse and prepares the horse for work under saddle by teaching correct posture and building strength and self-carriage.
